‘All By Myself’ is the solo debut from Bernie Nolan. The Nolans had line up of Maureen, Anne, Amy and Julia had split and Bernie had a promising career on national television.
In 2000, Bernie joined the cast of Channel 4’s Brookside to play Diane Murray. Certain
scenes she had to play mirrored those in her real life -
In 2002 Bernie went on to play Sheelagh Murphy on ITV1’s The Bill, where she proved a strong character and fan favourite. Once again, Bernie’s character was forced to deal with the torment of loosing a baby daughter.
The appropriately titled ‘All By Myself’ features cover versions of songs made famous by the likes of Leanne Rhymes (‘How Do I Live?’); Eric Carmen (‘All By Myself’); Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye (‘You Are Everything’); Whitney Huston (‘I’m Every Woman’) and Oleta Adams (‘Get Here’).
For the track ‘You Are Everything’, Bernie duets with featured vocalist Pete Cox, a member of the group Go West, with several solo singles and albums to his name too.
The album features a track titled ‘Better Place (Kate’s Song)’ penned by Bernie’s husband Steve Doneathy, about their stillborn child, Kate.
Bernie dedicated the album to her mum.
