Well, my CD turned up first thing on Monday morning, courtesy of Play.com!

Most of its pretty good, I have to say. Like I mentioned in another post a couple of weeks ago, I just wish that they had managed to do some new material!

The re-recordings of their own hits are very good, but the one that stands out for me, is Crashing Down. Fantastic reworking - personally, I think it would even stand a good chance as a single in its own right! In 1982, when it was originally released, I don't think the public were quite ready for the Nolans having this slightly harder edge, but I think it would fit in well with todays market.

As for the covers, well, mostly pretty damn good! Holding Out For A Hero, Eternal Flame and So What are particularly good, but the major stand out track for me, full stop, is Giving Up, Giving In! Wow!!! Absolutely fantastic!!!!!

My only real criticism is that I don't think the cover of I Don't Feel Like Dancing works particularly well.

Wow....... well what can I say

Love it love it love it

Totally amazing album only one song im not keen on . Yes I agree with Witchy Fee, I dont like "I Dont Feel Dancing" To be honest if it was diva anthems they picked then why that one where's the diva?...........could they not decide on another song?

Im loving the reworking of the old songs especially "Attention To Me" love the clapping bit in the middle that's defo tour material. I can see you all dancing hands in air clapping(yes im jelous), cant faulter anything with those what so ever. The girls still have amazing voices to this day.

Fave song ummm hard one, plenty of sing a long stuff, love The Promise. Oh bugger it, love them all really. It will be worn out by next Saturday

Hoping this is not the end, and theres more to come in the future. It would be great if "Sony" (is it?) could remaster the old stuff and bring them out on CD. Shame they are with Universal now could of had a word in my boss' ear hehe.

A very nice attempt to bring the Nolans back into the 21st century, thats if they ever really left us in the first place :-)

My first listen was enjoyable, I really like all the tracks on this CD but have to agree with the other two comments that ‘I dont feel like dancing’ is the weakest track on the album. I guess the girls just wanted to pick song that were all about fun, and scissor sisters had a big hit with it a few years back, and everyone loved it.

When I first heard the nolans were to record a new album I half expected there to be SOME cover versions, but I really wanted and hoped there would be new material.  It would be very interesting to hear some original nolans tracks now. I think covering their old hits was a cheap option. This is why I have given them a rating of 4. The vocals are spot on. Please girls do some new tracks again.

Overall a very good album. Probably more for the fan than just the casual listener.
